History

In 1952, M. Sally Keach and Gladys Helzberg, with assistance from the Greater Kansas City Chapter of Women in Communications, Theta Sigma Phi, established Veterans' Voices to provide hospitalized veterans an outlet for writing. What started as an outreach program for veterans returning from World War II has become a respected component of the Department of Veterans Affairs medical center recreation and rehabilitation program. Now, with the return of injured veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan, the project is more important than ever. Review HVWP's credibility profile at DonorEdge.
